HelpUsing Spekko

Needs you and approvals

What Spekko™ does on his own, what always waits for your yes, and where to find it.

Ask first or Auto

In Settings you choose how much he does on his own:

  • Auto (the default): he goes ahead with things that are private or easy to undo, like opening apps and pages, reminders, mail drafts, and code on a branch of its own, then shows you a done card.
  • Ask first: he checks with you before every action.

What always waits for you

At every setting, Spekko stops and asks before anything that:

  • spends money or pays someone,
  • sends a message or an email,
  • posts in your name,
  • deletes something,
  • calls someone,
  • pushes or publishes your work.

He shows a card with what he wants to do and why. Tap the button on the card to say yes, or Not now. Steps he takes in a web browser ask too, even on Auto.

The Needs you list

Every card and question waiting on you is collected in Needs you, each with what Spekko recommends. On Windows the tray shows how many are waiting. When it's empty you'll see "Nothing needs you right now."

You can answer some cards out loud. Anything about money or passwords, and anything that can't be undone, needs a tap.

The morning brief

Each morning at 8 he posts a short brief in your chat: what he got done, and what's waiting for you, with what he recommends. Ask "what needs me?" any time for the same thing. You can turn it off in Settings.

Notifications

Windows shows notifications on your PC. iPhone notifications are coming with the next update. Once you allow them, each new thing in Needs you reaches your lock screen as a short line; tap it to open the card. Notifications come through Apple and can sometimes be late, so Needs you is always the full list.
