What Spekko^™ is, where he lives, and the first few minutes with him.

Where Spekko lives

Spekko runs on one computer at home, a Windows PC or a Mac. We call that his home computer. Everything he knows and does lives there. Your phone and your other computers are windows into that same Spekko, so a chat you start on your phone carries on at your desk.

What you need

• A Windows PC or a Mac to be his home computer.
• The Spekko app on that computer, and on your iPhone if you want him with you.
• An AI key for his thinking. Spekko keeps keys in your computer's own secure store (Windows Credential Manager or the macOS Keychain), never in a file and never in the cloud.

The first few minutes

1. Install Spekko on the home computer and open it. On Windows he starts with your PC and waits in the tray by the clock.
2. Say hello. Type, or hold Ctrl+Alt on Windows and talk.
3. Give him a real job: "remind me to call the dentist tomorrow at 9", "find a gift for Sam under $50", "plan Saturday".
4. Watch his colour. He glows in the colour of the work (blue while he finds things, green for money, orange while he makes something) and goes back to pearl when he's done.

How he works with you

He starts on a job the moment you say it, and he shows you what he did. Anything that spends money, sends a message, posts, deletes or calls someone waits for your yes. See Needs you and approvals.
