Calling and texting Spekko

Talk to him in the app today; his own phone number and texting use your own carrier account.

Call him in the app

On the Mac and the iPhone, tap the call button or the mic and just talk. You can mute, switch to speaker, and tap Spekko™ to interrupt him. Everything said on the call lands in your chat, so nothing is lost.

On Windows, hold Ctrl+Alt to talk to him, or press Ctrl+Alt+Space (Look at this window) to show him what you're looking at.

His own phone number (coming)

Spekko can have his own phone number, so you can call him from any phone and he can ring you when something is urgent. This is coming, and it works with your own carrier account:

  • You bring the number. It lives in your own phone-service account (Telnyx today), and you pay your carrier directly at their rates. Spekko doesn't sell minutes or texts and adds nothing on top.
  • The line is yours only. It answers your number and no one else's; anyone else hears that it's a private line.
  • He calls you only when it's urgent: something needs your yes, or work is stuck on you.
  • If his home computer is off, the line tells you so and asks you to try again in a bit.

Texting (coming)

Texting isn't live yet. When it is, it will need your own texting provider and number, set up in your own account, plus the carrier registration that US texting requires. Texting is never included or bundled: you connect it yourself, and your provider bills you.

When texting is on, Spekko texts only you, about your own tasks and reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop texts at any time, START to turn them back on, and HELP for help.
